I have always been interested in art, in 2019 I started exploring different art mediums, painting, drawing, and photography. I discovered that my true passion was in photography. Not only was it therapeutic to be outside and enjoy the beauty that the world has to offer, it was something that I have a real passion for. I then began to study photographers not just photography. This is where I learned Henri Cartier-Bresson's concept of the "decisive moment" and created my personal mission statement for this concept.
A photograph makes the world stop for a minute
To enjoy the beauty that was captured
My goal is to give the world as many of those moments as possible
With this mission in mind I continued to study photographers to determine what type of photography I wanted to pursue. I really enjoy Philippe Halsman's work with Salvador Dali (my personal favorite artist) and his concept with the Jump photography. I also enjoy Ansel Adams work and believe his quote "You don't take a photograph, you make it" is something to live by. So with these concepts and ideas I have pursued my passion of photography, hoping not only to capture the beauty of the world, but to also to attempt to make photography that is unique and different, thus the name Outre Photography.
I am a veteran of the Iraq war and therefore support for veterans has a deep place in my heart. I am a proud member of VFW Post 1, in Denver Colorado, as well as an active board member of the Veterans Art Council. I will donate 10% of all sales to the Veterans Art Council as I believe art is a very therapeutic and beneficial way for all veterans to cope with the stress they have endured. So please help me in helping his great cause.
